Hair straighteners as we now know them were not very common on this side of the hemisphere and, unless we had an appointment at the beauty salon, many of us spent hours lying in bed (or even on the floor), waiting patiently. to our faithful helpers (friends or mothers) to let us straighten hair for the night party. Of course, the hair was dry and with a frizz uncontrollable.

Some time later, professional hair straighteners became an essential tool in our dressing table.
